Morning — Repeat a Favorite
By now everyone has a “best part.” Do it again:
- Another lake paddle or a final bike lap.
- Fishing for the one that got away.
- An easy hike or creek session for the kids.
Midday — Beach & Lunch
- One more beach session; lunch-meat sandwiches in the shade.
- Start drying and packing non-essential gear (bikes you’re done with, extra chairs) so tomorrow’s exit is quick.
Afternoon — Tidy & Chill
- Rinse and dry kayaks, PFDs, water shoes, swimsuits (pack them dry-ish).
- Consolidate coolers; plan to cook down what’s left tonight.
Evening — Simple Use-It-Up Night
- Dinner: Spaghetti + Clean-the-Cooler Grill (Older Smiths host) — one-pot spaghetti with make-ahead sauce, plus brats, remaining chicken, dehydrated mashed potatoes, and green beans to empty the coolers. Finish the watermelon. (Meal schedule.)
- Last big campfire: extra s’mores, a story or two, a thank-you to the cooks and the chore crews.
- A final stargaze before quiet hours.
Pack the “done” stuff tonight. A little teardown now makes a calm departure tomorrow—no frantic 7 a.m. scramble.
